What is Apache Ant? Ant is software tool for automating software build processes. For further information, you can ask Google Uncle :D. I use Ant for installing Encog (It can be use with IDE also )
Lets Install Ant!
- First, after downloading Ant, extract into place that you want (C is recommended)
- Second, set and configure variable ANT_HOME, JAVA_HOME, PATH in your computer. How?
- Click Computer in main menu
- Click system properties in upper left corner.
- After window appeared, click Advance System Settings in left columm
- Then click Environment Variables button in System Properties window
- Click new and type ANT_HOME in variable name and Ant's directory of your computer in variable value, then click ok.
- After that, highlight PATH in User Variable column and click edit. Type Ant's directory in variable value after the last semicolon (in the middle or in the beginning is ok!) and don't forget to close it with semicolon.
- Repeat the the fifth and sixth steps for JAVA_HOME variable
- After setting the variables, open command prompt change the directory into Ant's directory and type command "Ant" like the picture below. If you got the message "build.xml doesnt not exist", Ant had been installed
- To ensure it more by checking the version, you can type "ant -version"
